When I was two weeks old, a photographer named Nekemeya started visiting our home in Makindye every month, on the 26th, just to document how I was growing. My first smile. My changing features. My gradual awareness of the world. When Nekemeya passed away, my mother found another photographer, Suubi, to carry the tradition forward, and later, Kenny Kigozi became our family's photographer as we grew up.

I didn't know it then, but those monthly sessions were teaching me something I'd spend my life doing: creating what I now call "return tickets" — photographs that don't just show you a moment, but bring you back to exactly how it felt.

That's where the name Clefmak comes from. Clef — the key in music, my artistic foundation. Mak — Makindye, the community that raised me. Together, a name that captures life's symphony through a lens.
